Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله writes in his Kitab Al-Iman [English translation and Arabic text below]:
The following words – “righteous,” “witness,” and “truthful,” – may be cited separately to refer to the Prophets. Allah the Exalted says about Al-Khalil (the Prophet Abraham):
وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَWe gave him his reward in the world and, indeed, in the Hereafter he will be one of the righteous.
[Surah Al-Ankabut 29:27]
