Hadith on Fasting: All deeds are for the children of Adam except for fasting which is for Allah

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: Allah Almighty said, “All the deeds of the children of Adam are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.” The Messenger of Allah said further, “Fasting is a shield. If one of you is fasting, he should avoid sexual relations with his wife and arguments. If somebody should fight or argue with him, he should say: I am fasting. By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, the unpleasant smell coming from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast and the other when he meets his Lord; then he will be pleased because of his fasting.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 6, Number 2566]

Hadith on Hypocrisy: The signs of hypocrisy are false speech, treachery, breaking promises, and evil argumentation

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “There are four signs which make someone a pure hypocrite, and whoever has them has the characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it: when he speaks he lies, when he makes a covenant he proves treacherous, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he argues he proves wicked.”
[Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Number 111]

Hadith on Moses: Do not make Muhammad superior to Moses because Moses will be by the Throne on the Day of Resurrection

Abu Huraira reported: Two people, one Jewish and the other Muslim, fell into dispute and began to abuse one another. The Muslim said, “By Him Who chose Muhammad in the worlds.” And the Jew said, “By Him Who chose Moses in the worlds.” Then the Muslim slapped the face of the Jew. The Jew went to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and told him about the incident, so he said, “Do not say I am better than Moses for mankind will faint (on the Day of Judgment) and I will be the first to recover, and Moses at that time will be holding the side of the Throne. I do not know if he would faint and recover before me, or if Allah will make an exception for him.
[Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Number 5854]
