Hadith of Gabriel: He was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion of Islam, Faith, and Excellence

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, appeared before the public one day when a man came to him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is faith?” He said, “Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His meeting (on the Day of Judgment), His messengers, and to believe in the resurrection in the Hereafter.” He said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam?” He said, “Islam is to worship Allah alone without associating anything with Him, to establish the prescribed prayer, to give obligatory charity, and to fast the month of Ramadan.” He said, “What is excellence?” He said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for verily, He sees you.” He said, “When is the Hour?” He said, “The one who is asked does not know more than the one asking. Rather, I will relate to you some of its signs; when the slave-girl gives birth to her master is among its signs; when the naked and barefooted will become chiefs of the people is among its signs; when the shepherds of black camels will exult themselves in constructing building is among its signs; concerning the fifth sign, none knows it but Allah.” Then he recited, “Indeed, Allah alone has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted (31:34).” Then the turned away and left. The Messenger of Allah said, “Bring him back to me,” but they went to bring him back and saw nothing there. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “He was Gabriel, who came to teach the people their religion.

Ibn Taymiyyah: Righteousness is to fulfill the Rights of Allah and the Rights of His servants

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله writes in his Kitab Al-Iman [English translation and Arabic text below]:
The following words – “righteous,” “witness,” and “truthful,” – may be cited separately to refer to the Prophets. Allah the Exalted says about Al-Khalil (the Prophet Abraham):

وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
We gave him his reward in the world and, indeed, in the Hereafter he will be one of the righteous.
[Surah Al-Ankabut 29:27]

Ibn Qudamah: The Causes and Remedies of Anger, Malevolence, and Envy

Ibn Qudamah رحمه الله writes in Minhaj Al-Qasidin [English translation and Arabic text below]:
Anger is a flame of fire, and when man is angry he has some relation to the accursed Satan who said, as mentioned in the Quran:
خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ
You created me from fire, and him from clay.

Hadith on Mercy: The Angel of the Mountains offered to destroy the disbelievers but the Prophet had mercy on them

Aisha reported: She asked the Prophet , “Have you encountered a day harder than the battle of Uhud?” The Prophet, peace be upon him, replied, “Your tribes have troubled very much, and the worst was the day of ‘Aqaba when I presented myself to Ibn Abd-Yalail ibn Abd-Kulal and he did not respond to what I intended. So I departed, overwhelmed with excessive sorrow, and I could not relax until I found myself at Qarnath-Tha-alib where I lifted my head towards the sky to see a cloud shading me. I looked up and saw Gabriel in it. He called me saying, “Allah has heard your people’s saying to you and how they have replied. Allah has sent the Angel of the Mountains to you that you may order him to do whatever you wish to these people.” The Angel of the Mountains greeted me, and said, “O Muhammad, order what you wish. If you like, I will let the mountains fall on them.” The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “No, I hope that Allah will bring from their descendants people who will worship Allah alone without associating partners with Him.”
