Ibn Taymiyyah: Enjoining good and forbidding evil requires knowledge, mercy, and wisdom

Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728AH/1328CE) said, “Three qualities are essential for enjoining good: knowledge, gentleness, and patience. Knowledge is required before enjoining and forbidding, gentleness is required during it, and patience is required after it. This separation does not negate the fact that these three qualities should be present at all times. This is similar to a statement narrated from the righteous predecessors, some of whom attributed it to the Prophet. Abu Ya’la mentioned this in his book entitled Al-Ma’tamad as follows: No one should enjoin good or forbid evil unless he understands what he enjoins, understands what he forbids, show gentleness in what he enjoins, shows gentleness in what he forbids, show forbearance in what he enjoins, and show forbearance in what he forbids.”

[Ibn Taymiyyah, Amr bil-Ma’ruf wa Nahi ‘an al-Munkar]

Hadith on Women: Allah created women different from men, so respect these differences and be kind to them

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Treat women with kindness, for woman is created from a rib, and the most curved portion of the rib is its upper portion. So if you try to straighten it, it will break, but if you leave it as it is, it will remain curved. So treat women with kindness.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 55, Number 548]

Hadith on Sickness: When a Muslim is sick, the sins falls away just as fire purifies gold

Umm Al-Ala reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, visited me when I was sick, and he said, “Be cheerful, O mother of Al-Ala, for when a Muslim becomes sick, Allah takes away his sins just as fire takes away impurities in gold and silver.”

[Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 20, Number 3092, Hasan]

Hadith on Kindness: Acts of Kindness are the best way to Call to Islam

Anas رضى الله عنه reported: A young Jewish boy used to serve the Prophet and he became sick, so the Prophet went to visit him. He sat near his head and asked him to embrace Islam. The boy looked at his father, who was sitting next to him. The father said, “Obey Abu Al-Qasim,” and so the boy embraced Islam. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم came out saying: “All praise is due to Allah who saved the boy from the Hell-fire.”
