Hadith on Miracles: The tree bears witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah

Ibn Umar reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a journey and a bedouin passed by us. When he came near, the Prophet said, “Where are you going?” He said, “I am going to my people.” The Prophet said, “Would you like to bring goodness with you?” He said, “What is it?” The Prophet said, “That you witness there is no God but Allah alone without any partners and that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger.” He said, “Who will bear witness to what you say?” The Prophet said, “This tree is a witness.” The Prophet called the tree from the edge of the valley and it ploughed through the earth as it came until it stood before him. The Prophet asked for its testimony and it bore witness three times that he is the Messenger of Allah. Then it returned to the place where it grew. The Bedouin returned to his people and he said, “If they follow me, I will bring them all to you. Otherwise, I will return alone with you.”

عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَقْبَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنْهُ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ قَالَ إِلَى أَهْلِي قَالَ هَلْ لَكَ فِي خَيْرٍ قَالَ وَمَا هُوَ قَالَ تَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ وَمَنْ يَشْهَدُ عَلَى مَا تَقُولُ قَالَ هَذِهِ السَّلَمَةُ فَدَعَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ بِشَاطِئِ الْوَادِي فَأَقْبَلَتْ تَخُدُّ الْأَرْضَ خَدًّا حَتَّى قَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَاسْتَشْهَدَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَشَهِدَتْ ثَلَاثًا أَنَّهُ كَمَا قَالَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَتْ إِلَى مَنْبَتِهَا وَرَجَعَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ وَقَالَ إِنْ اتَّبَعُونِي أَتَيْتُكَ بِهِمْ وَإِلَّا رَجَعْتُ فَكُنْتُ مَعَكَ

Hadith on Sunnah: Whoever grasps the Quran and the Prophetic Tradition will never go astray

Malik ibn Anas reported: It reached him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I have left among you two matters which will never lead you astray as long as you hold to them: the Book of Allah and the tradition of His Prophet.”

عَنْ مَالِك أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ تَرَكْتُ فِيكُمْ أَمْرَيْنِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا مَا تَمَسَّكْتُمْ بِهِمَا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِ

Ibn Mas’ud on Martyrdom: Allah took the life of the Prophet and made him a martyr

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “If I were to swear by Allah nine times that, indeed, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, has been killed, that would be more beloved to me than swearing only once, because Allah the Exalted took His Prophet and made him into a martyr.”

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَأَنْ أَحْلِفَ بِاللَّهِ تِسْعًا إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُتِلَ قَتْلًا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَحْلِفَ وَاحِدَةً وَذَلِك بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ اتَّخَذَهُ نَبِيًّا وَجَعَلَهُ شَهِيدًا

Hadith on Islam: Let him witness for Allah and treat people the way he loves to be treated

Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Whoever would be delighted to be delivered from the Hellfire and entered into Paradise, then let him die while he witnesses that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger; and he treats people the way he loves to be treated.”

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُزَحْزَحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَيَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَلْتَأْتِهِ مَنِيَّتُهُ وَهُوَ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَيَأْتِي إِلَى النَّاسِ مَا يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُؤْتَى إِلَيْهِ

Hadith on Muhammad: The Prophet will be the leader of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “I will be the leader of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be the first intercessor and the first whose intercession will be accepted.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 30, Number 5655]

أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَنْشَقُّ عَنْهُ الْقَبْرُ وَأَوَّلُ شَافِعٍ وَأَوَّلُ مُشَفَّعٍ

Hadith on Reward: A double reward for People of the Book who embrace Islam, an honest servant, and a man who educates and marries his servant girl

Abu Burda reported from his father: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Three persons will receive a double reward: a man from the People of the Book who believes in his prophet and believes in Muhammad; a servant owned by his master who fulfills the rights of Allah and his master; and a man who owns a servant girl and he mentors her, teaches her beautiful manners, and educates her in the best way, then he emancipates her and marries her. These will have a double reward.”

[Sahih Bukhari, Book 3, Number 97]

أَبُو بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَةٌ لَهُمْ أَجْرَانِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ آمَنَ بِنَبِيِّهِ وَآمَنَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْعَبْدُ الْمَمْلُوكُ إِذَا أَدَّى حَقَّ اللَّهِ وَحَقَّ مَوَالِيهِ وَرَجُلٌ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ أَمَةٌ فَأَدَّبَهَا فَأَحْسَنَ تَأْدِيبَهَا وَعَلَّمَهَا فَأَحْسَنَ تَعْلِيمَهَا ثُمَّ أَعْتَقَهَا فَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ
