Hadith on Eid: The Prophet’s wisdom in returning home by different paths on Eid

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would return on the day of Eid by using a different route from which he came.
Source: Sahih Bukhari 943, Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Bukhari
Ibn Al-Qayyim said, “It is said that the reason he did this was to greet the people with peace who lived on both fairways, or so that the blessings of his passing would reach both areas, or to fulfill the needs of those among them. It is said that he did so to establish the symbols of Islam in the various roads and paths. Another reason given is that he did so to frustrate the hypocrites when they witnessed the might of Islam and its people. It is said that he did so in order for the various areas to testify to his obedience to Allah. Surely, he who walks to the mosque and the place of prayer will earn this virtue: one step raises him a degree and another erases a sin until he returns home. It is also said, and this is the correct opinion, that all the reasons mentioned here are possible as well as other unknown wisdom that always accompanied his actions.”

Hadith on Generosity: I have never seen anyone more generous than Aisha and Asma, the mothers of the believers

Above All, See Others as Human Beings

By Sheikh Salman al-Oadah at Islam Today

Once, while sitting in a public venue, a young man was seated next to me who behaved quite strangely. He looked unbearably sad and distraught. He recoiled from everyone around him, as if he thought that everyone was out to cause him injury. It then occurred to me that this young man was closed off to any possibility of positive engagement with others. In order to reach out to this person, you would first have to know how to get through the barriers that he has erected around himself.
There may be a person who you want to do business with, or who you need to cooperate with in some scientific project or cultural event. Or you may want to call that person to righteousness, or protect that person from harm. Or maybe that person may be able to help you in some way and you wish to ask for help. Or maybe you know there is some way you can help that person.

An-Nawawi: The Virtue of Spreading Peace Among People, To Those You Know and Those You Do Not Know

Imam An-Nawawi wrote in his Sharh Sahih Muslim [Arabic text and English translation below]:
As for his saying, peace be upon him,:
أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ
Spread peace between yourselves
In it is a tremendous encouragement to spread peace and to offer it to all of the Muslims, those you know and those you do not know, such as had come in other Hadith. And the Salaam [greeting of peace] is the first of the causes of reconciliation, the key to attracting affection – this is the significance of the Salaam – and in spreading it is the possibility of

Al-Bayhaqi: Leaving Envy and Hatred by seeking refuge from the Envier when he envies

Chapter: Leaving Envy and Affairs by seeking refuge from the Envier when he envies

Imam Ahmad: People of Paradise have hearts free of Envy and Malice

Recorded in the Musnad of Imam Ahmad:
Anas ibn Malik رضى الله عنه said that when he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم , he said: “Coming upon you now is a man from the people of Paradise.” So a man came from the Ansar whose beard looked disarrayed by the water from Wudu (ablution), and he was carrying both of his shoes with his left hand. The next day the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم repeated the same words, and the Ansar came in the same condition. The third day the Prophet repeated the same again, and the Ansar man showed up in the same condition.

Why Islam? Fasting the month of Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It begins with the sighting of the new moon after which all physically mature and healthy Muslims are obliged to fast for the complete month. Fasting is done as an act of worship and obedience to Allah (God). Between dawn and sunset, Muslims abstain from all food, drink and any kind of sexual contact. In addition to this physical component, the spiritual aspects of the fast include an added emphasis on refraining from gossip, lies, obscenity and in general, any sinful act.
