Hadith on Supplication: The prayers of a parent, a fasting person, and a traveler are never rejected

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are three supplications that are never rejected: the supplication of a parent, the supplication of a fasting person, and the supplication of a traveler.”

Ibn Taymiyyah on Abortion: Killing a fetus is prohibited according to the consensus of the Muslims

Ibn Taymiyyah said, “Aborting a fetus is unlawful according to the consensus of the Muslims, as it is like the infant who is buried alive. Allah said: When the infant buried alive is questioned for what sin was she killed? (81:8) and Allah said: Do not kill your children for fear of poverty.” (17:31)

Hadith on Death: The Hour is established for you upon your death

Aisha reported: Some men among the rough desert Arabs came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and they said, “When is the Hour?” The Prophet looked to the youngest of them and he said, “If this boy will live to be old, then your Hour will be established.” Hisham said, “By their Hour he meant their death.”

Hadith on Children: A Muslim couple whose three children die will enter Paradise

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There is no Muslim couple whose three children die before reaching adulthood except that Allah will enter them into Paradise by virtue of His mercy; it will be said to them: enter Paradise, until they say: let our parents come along.” He said it three times, “They will say likewise until it is said to them: enter Paradise, you and your parents.”

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “Verily, the best food a man can eat is that which he has earned, and his child’s earnings are part of his earnings.”

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “There are seven persons whom Allah will shade on a Day when there is no shade but His: a just ruler; a young person who grew up in the worship of Allah; a person whose heart is attached to the mosques; two persons who love each other, meet and depart from each other for the sake of Allah; a man whom a beautiful woman of high status seduces, but he rejects by saying, I fear Allah; a person who spends in charity and conceals it such that his right hand does not know what his left hand has given; and a person who remembered Allah in private and he wept.”

Hadith on Mercy: Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother is to her child

Umar ibn Al-Khattab reported: Some prisoners of war were brought in front of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and a woman was among them who was breast-feeding. Whenever she found a child among the prisoners, she would take it to her chest and nurse it. The Prophet said to us, “Do you think this woman could throw her child in the fire?” We said, “No, not if she is able to stop it.” He said, “Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother is to her child.”

عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْيٌ فَإِذَا امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ السَّبْيِ قَدْ تَحْلُبُ ثَدْيَهَا تَسْقِي إِذَا وَجَدَتْ صَبِيًّا فِي السَّبْيِ أَخَذَتْهُ فَأَلْصَقَتْهُ بِبَطْنِهَا وَأَرْضَعَتْهُ فَقَالَ لَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتُرَوْنَ هَذِهِ طَارِحَةً وَلَدَهَا فِي النَّارِ قُلْنَا لَا وَهِيَ تَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تَطْرَحَهُ فَقَالَ لَلَّهُ أَرْحَمُ بِعِبَادِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ بِوَلَدِهَا

Hadith on Mothers: Be good to your mother because Paradise is under her feet

Mu’awiyah ibn Jahima reported: Jahima came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, I intend to join the expedition and I seek your advice.” The Prophet said, “Do you have a mother?” He said, “Yes.” The Prophet said, “Stay with her, for verily Paradise is beneath her feet.”

[Sunan An-Nasa’i, Book of Jihad, Number 3104, Sahih]

عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ جَاهِمَةَ السَّلَمِيِّ  أَنَّ جَاهِمَةَ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَغْزُوَ وَقَدْ جِئْتُ أَسْتَشِيرُكَ فَقَالَ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ أُمٍّ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَالْزَمْهَا فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ رِجْلَيْهَا

سنن النسائي  كِتَاب الْجِهَادِ  فالزمها فإن الجنة تحت رجليها

Hadith on Family: The Prophet would busy himself serving his family and doing household chores

Al-Aswad reported that he asked Aisha, “What did the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم do in his house?” She replied, “He used to keep himself busy serving his family and when it was the time for prayer he would go out for it.”

أَبْوَابُ صَلَاةِ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَالْإِمَامَةِ – بَاب مَنْ كَانَ فِي حَاجَةِ أَهْلِهِ فَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَخَرَجَ

Hadith on Family: The best of you are the best to their family, and do not abuse the dead

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “The best of you are the best to their families, and I am the best to my family. When your companion dies, then leave him alone.”

Hadith on Women: The Prophet set aside special classes for women, and the virtue of parenthood

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri reported: Some women asked the Prophet, peace be upon him, to set aside a day for them, as the men were taking up all of his time. So he promised them a day for religious lessons and commandments. During one such lesson, the Prophet said, “A woman whose three children die will be shielded by them from the Hellfire.” A woman asked, “What if only two?” He said, “Even two.”

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَتْ النِّسَاءُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَلَبَنَا عَلَيْكَ الرِّجَالُ فَاجْعَلْ لَنَا يَوْمًا مِنْ نَفْسِكَ فَوَعَدَهُنَّ يَوْمًا لَقِيَهُنَّ فِيهِ فَوَعَظَهُنَّ وَأَمَرَهُنَّ فَكَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ لَهُنَّ مَا مِنْكُنَّ امْرَأَةٌ تُقَدِّمُ ثَلَاثَةً مِنْ وَلَدِهَا إِلَّا كَانَ لَهَا حِجَابًا مِنْ النَّارِ فَقَالَتْ امْرَأَةٌ وَاثْنَتَيْنِ فَقَالَ وَاثْنَتَيْنِ

Hadith on Funerals: Muslims should humbly follow the funeral procession and pray over an aborted fetus

Jubair said: Al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah reported – and I think he attributed it to the Prophet, peace be upon him, “The rider should travel behind the funeral procession, and those on foot should walk behind it, in front, to the right or to the left, near to it. The funeral prayer should be offered over the miscarried fetus, and supplications for forgiveness and mercy should be made for the parents.”

عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ  وَأَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَهْلَ زِيَادٍ أَخْبَرُونِي أَنَّهُ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الرَّاكِبُ يَسِيرُ خَلْفَ الْجَنَازَةِ وَالْمَاشِي يَمْشِي خَلْفَهَا وَأَمَامَهَا وَعَنْ يَمِينِهَا وَعَنْ يَسَارِهَا قَرِيبًا مِنْهَا وَالسِّقْطُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَيُدْعَى لِوَالِدَيْهِ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ

Hadith on Children: The Prophet was humble enough to greet children on the street

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, would pass by young boys and greet them with peace.
