Hadith on Romans: The Christians will be a majority due to some of their characteristics

Amr ibn Al-As reported: The Quraish importer said to him that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “The Hour will be established and the Romans will be a majority of the people.” Amr said, “Be careful what you say.” The man said, “I have said what I heard from the Messenger of Allah.” Amr said, “If the Prophet said that, indeed, there are four qualities in them: they are the most judicious of people during a tribulation, they are the quickest to recover after a calamity, they are the quickest to return to battle after a retreat, and they behave well with the poor and weak. Their fifth quality is good and beautiful: they are best at preventing the oppression of their kings.”

Asma bint Abu Bakr reported: I saw Zaid ibn Amr ibn Nufail standing with his back against the Ka’bah and he was saying, “O people of Quraish, none of you are upon the religion of Abraham except me.” He would preserve the lives of young girls. If someone wanted to kill his daughter, he would say to him, “Do not kill her, for I will feed her on your behalf.” So he would take care of her and when she grew up, he would say to her father, “Now if you want her, I will give her to you; but if you wish, I will feed her on your behalf.”

Ibn Taymiyyah: Permission to relate weak narrations only as supporting evidence for established good manners

Ibn Taymiyyah said, “It is not permissible to establish something in the Sharia based upon a weak narration which is not authentic or good, but Ahmad bin Hanbal and other scholars considered it permissible to narrate regarding virtuous deeds which are not known to be affirmed but when it is known not to be a lie. That is because when the action is known to be legislated with authentic evidence and it is not known to be a false narration, then it is possible that the reward is true, but not one of the Imams said that he considered it to be permissible to make something obligatory or recommended based upon a weak narration.”

[Majmu Al-Fatawa 250/1]

Hadith of Gabriel: He was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion of Islam, Faith, and Excellence

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, appeared before the public one day when a man came to him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is faith?” He said, “Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His meeting (on the Day of Judgment), His messengers, and to believe in the resurrection in the Hereafter.” He said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam?” He said, “Islam is to worship Allah alone without associating anything with Him, to establish the prescribed prayer, to give obligatory charity, and to fast the month of Ramadan.” He said, “What is excellence?” He said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for verily, He sees you.” He said, “When is the Hour?” He said, “The one who is asked does not know more than the one asking. Rather, I will relate to you some of its signs; when the slave-girl gives birth to her master is among its signs; when the naked and barefooted will become chiefs of the people is among its signs; when the shepherds of black camels will exult themselves in constructing building is among its signs; concerning the fifth sign, none knows it but Allah.” Then he recited, “Indeed, Allah alone has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted (31:34).” Then the turned away and left. The Messenger of Allah said, “Bring him back to me,” but they went to bring him back and saw nothing there. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, “He was Gabriel, who came to teach the people their religion.

The Encouragement to follow the Path of Goodness

Ibn Kathir (رحمه الله) wrote in his Tafsir:
Ibn Zayd said:
(But he has not attempted to pass on the path that is steep.) “This means, will he not traverse upon the path which contains salvation and good Then He explains this path by his saying:
[وَمَآ أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ - فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ]
(And what will make you know the path that is steep Freeing a neck, or giving food.)” Imam Ahmad recorded from Sa`id bin Marjanah that he heard Abu Hurayrah saying that the Messenger of Allah said:
«مَنْ أَعْتَقَ رَقَبَةً مُؤمِنَةً أَعْتَقَ اللهُ بِكُلِّ إِرْبٍ أَيْ عُضْوٍ مِنْهَا إِرْبًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ حَتْى إِنَّهُ لَيُعْتِقُ بِالْيَدِ الْيَدَ، وَبِالرِّجْلِ الرِّجْلَ، وَبِالْفَرْجِ الْفَرْج»

Hadith on Charity: The Prophet has obligated payment of charity upon the end of Ramadan

Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, made it an obligation upon the people to pay Zakat Al-Fitr (charity upon breaking the fast) during the month of Ramadan, including every freeman and servant, male and female: a portion of dates or a portion of barely.

[Sahih Muslim, Book 5, Number 2149]

Why Islam? Fasting the month of Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It begins with the sighting of the new moon after which all physically mature and healthy Muslims are obliged to fast for the complete month. Fasting is done as an act of worship and obedience to Allah (God). Between dawn and sunset, Muslims abstain from all food, drink and any kind of sexual contact. In addition to this physical component, the spiritual aspects of the fast include an added emphasis on refraining from gossip, lies, obscenity and in general, any sinful act.

Mercy From Allah During the First Ten Days of Ramadan

Ramadan is known to be broken down into thirds. The first ten days of Ramadan are known as the “Ten Days of Mercy.” Muslims are aware that Ramadan is a month of spiritual opportunities, but what does “mercy” really mean to Muslims?
One of Allah’s names is Ar-Rahman, the Most Merciful, and Muslims call upon Allah using this name in nearly everything they do. Thus, there is no surprise that Mercy manifests itself in the month that Allah created for Himself.
