Hadith on Eid: Recommendation to perform Ghusl before heading to prayer

Nafi’ reported: Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, used to perform a ritual bath on the day of breaking fast (eid al-fitr) before he would depart for prayer.

Hadith on Eid: Recitation of seven and five takbir in the Eid prayers

Kathir ibn Abdullah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would declare the greatness of Allah (takbir) during the Eid prayer seven times before reciting the Quran in the first bowing and five times before reciting the Quran in the second bowing.

At-Tirmidhi said, “This tradition is acted upon by some of the scholars among the companions of the Prophet and others.”

Hadith on Ramadan: The Umrah pilgrimage during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj

Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to an Ansari woman, “What prevented you from performing the Hajj pilgrimage with us?” She said, “We have a camel and the father of so-and-so and his son rode it and left only one camel for us to use for irrigation.” The Prophet said, “Perform the Umrah pilgrimage when Ramadan arrives, for Umrah during Ramadan is equal to the Hajj pilgrimage.”

Abu Huraira reported: There were two men from the tribe of Quda’ah who embraced Islam with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. One of them was martyred and the other lived for another year. Talha said: I had a dream of Paradise and I saw the one who lived longer enter Paradise before the martyr. I was amazed by that and when I woke up I mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah said, “Did he not fast the month of Ramadan after him and he performed six thousand or more bowings of prayer in the year?”

Usamah ibn Zaid reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting any month as much as you fast during Sha’ban.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “It is a month people neglect between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are raised to the Lord of the worlds and I like for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.”

I swear by Allah that I love you.” And he said, “I advise you, O Mu’adh, not to forget supplicating after every prayer, saying: O Allah, help me to remember you, give thanks to you, and worship you in the best manner.”

Hadith on Mosques: Supplication for entering and exiting the Masjid

Abu Usaid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When one of you enters the mosque, then let him say: O Allah, open for me the doors of your mercy. When he leaves, then let him say: O Allah, verily, I ask you for your favor.”

عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَإِذَا خَرَجَ فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

Hadith on Sunnah: The Prophet delivered all the commands and prohibitions of Allah

Al-Mutalib ibn Hantib reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I have not left anything which Allah has commanded you except that I have commanded you, and I have not left anything which Allah has forbidden for you except that I have forbidden it for you.”

عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا تَرَكْتُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ إِلا وَقَدْ أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ وَلا تَرَكْتُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ إِلا وَقَدْ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ

Hadith on Faith: Yemen is a land of faith, tranquility is found in rearing sheep

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Faith is from Yemen; and unbelief is from the east; and tranquility is found among those who care for sheep; and pride and showing off is found among the rude owners of horses and camels.”
